November

F A L L

Hope all of you are having a great time in this beautiful harvest season.

I've been to farmers' market every weekend. I am always grateful to see the variety of organic produce, such as pok choy (purple bok choy), kabu (tokyo turnip), giant celery root, colourful squashes and peppers.

I had an opportunity to visit a couple of organic farms this year. I'm so impressed by how the amount of work required in organic, and especially sustainable farming. We are fortunate to have access to these produce in Montreal.

When you purchase produce from someone, you are supporting and investing in that person and his/her business. That is one of the reason I'm paying a little bit more to those local organic farmers. And, of course, deliciousness is guaranteed!

I've been teaming up with one of my favourite couples, chefs Aiko and Hachi, and cooking some vegan, gluten-free Japanese dishes since summer of 2016. We are glad to hold our 5th pop-up dinner in Montreal next Sunday, November 5th. Most of the vegetables used will be from a biodynamic farm in Mont-Saint-Grégoire, as well as from an organic farm in Hemmingford.
